I disagree. I think Chief Cox keeping us informed of what is being presented to the board and Dr. Screwtheessentials is imperative. That way we know what ideas are being put to them that they are shooting down. If he didn't say anything until it was approved you would be accusing him of not putting ideas in front of them.

While some may be irritated with the idea of hope that the Step-n-Grade may move forward in the fall and that hazardous duty pay may actually occur, let me tell you what I have been told.

The information was presented to the Department on Thursday afternoon. Serious conversations were had to determine whether this information should be pushed out to the staff, since past information has sometimes changed. Since this information was already being publicly stated by a Commissioner to many fire fighters and a police officer, it was decided to send the information to all staff. This was an attempt to keep everyone informed and to also prevent anyone from feeling that Command Staff was not being forthcoming with information or being transparent.

If the e-mail had not been sent and the information had been distributed through rumor, there would be staff members complaining that either Command Staff does not care or is not willing to communicate with them.

Either way, someone is going to complain so it was decided to push the information out.

Some people strive for peace in their organization while others strive for dissension. Either way, having hope is a good thing and that may have been the purpose of the Chief's e-mail.

If you seriously think about this, it is always a "no win situation" with some, I'm glad I'm not having to make these decisions daily.

Y’all see Cobb County is about to get $132 million to pay for Coronavirus response. I guess that annual leave would have really killed the county budget.

Cobb is failing now, much less under Chapter 9

You're right

Having worked for cobb around 15 years and seeing the boc screw us over during the greatest economy ever, I guarantee you we will get screwed in the months and years to come!!
And the benefits that are considered, "industry standards" in the metro Atlanta area and in the southeastern US will disappear.
Its the cobb way.

So now our dangerously low manpower is a good thing? Mike Boyce is a scumbag and if you aren't telling everyone you know to vote against him you're wrong.

"Boyce... said the county employs fewer people than it did five years ago... signs of responsible fiscal stewardship, he argued."

Stay abreast of whats happening. No politician would bring it up if states were not considering and asking. Yes Senator MM is talking about it

In today's news. For the guy that needs conformation!!!

Do you not think these turds running this Cobb County shit-show would not seek this out?
"McConnell also told host Neil Cavuto that he was "certainly open to considering additional assistance to state and local governments" after he suggested last week that states with massive gaps in their budget as a result of the coronavirus pandemic should be allowed to declare bankruptcy.
"It is important, however, to understand that many states have systemic long-standing challenges: In many of them, their pension fund, in many of them from overspending," McConnell said. "What we're saying here is, we are not interested in rescuing badly run states from the mistakes they've made [that are] completely unrelated to the coronavirus. So let me make it perfectly clear. We are open to considering another bill."

Question-can the county compel you to take the COVID test? We were told yesterday that it was mandatory and if you don't take it you can't work. That seems contrary to the email sent by the DC. Was anyone else told it's mandatory?

So you're telling me I have to take a warrant to run a test on a perp but the county can bypass my rights to force me to take a test? Under threat of what? What punitive action will you take against the officers that refuse?

Do you prefer separate lawsuits or is class action ok?

Anonymous said...

I'm thinking class action.

Chill out and dont blow a brain cell gasket, the county has reconsidered the mandatory testing and reverted it back to volintary.

Let's just hope they stay smart. If they were REALLY SMART, they'd set up finger stick anti-body testing to check the herd. I think just about everyone would be on board with that as it provides piece of mind. I suspect they'd find that a lot of us already had it and had no idea.

Georgia Police Chief Fired Over Officer's Facebook Post Criticizing City

Impressive example of leadership.
Fortunate to have the Chiefs we have and most of CS.

Well, for one Boyce told the media that a merit raise probably wouldn't happen. The move to the next step in the step and grade is not a merit raise. That's what all the command staff and non-sworn people get.

Crider to be permanent director.... yawn

Does anyone have the cliff notes on the hybrid pension email?
