The sergeant list is in formation. Let's see if anybody from patrol is promoted. How is a candidate number one on the list not promoted yet since he's not in special OPS he not promoted.
I'm sure the 3mil dollars DPS will request surely will be approved. Even if it is approved by commissioners Dr, Hankerson will delay until Jesus returns.
If you haven’t learned yet, the odds of advancement from a Uniform Patrol position are not in your favor. A few will advance to Sergeant, fewer to Lieutenant, and none to Captain. I've been here for well over 20 years and I can’t recall a precinct Lieutenant advancing to Captain. None of our current Captains came from patrol. Heck some of our Captains didn't even spend time in patrol as Lieutenants. Not pointing fingers, just saying it as it is. We continue to hear that Uniform Patrol is our Chief’s highest priority, except when it comes time for promotions. We just keep doing the heavy lifting while others keep having it handed to them. I only have a couple of years left so I will keep putting on uniform with pride and integrity hoping that one day those of us who are on the front line will one day be recognized for their hard work and be advanced into supervisory/management roles in this department.

Someone needs to add Cobb S.O. to the competing agencies list.
