This site was created as a way for Cobb Police Officers to stay informed about what is going on in their department and speak their mind without fear of reprisal
Has anyone seen the update from FOP about how the state legislators from Cobb County don't think the 1% sales tax to fund public safety is a good idea? They probably won't even sign off to let the voters of Cobb County decide for themselves.
Why is Cobb's pension fund for all county employees down in the low 50% funded range, while other city and county funds are in the 80% range. Where is the money and why isn't the Sheriff looking out for his deputies as well.
We have a vision for the dept. Did anyone know that? If you didn't the new video on FB, will tell you that about 20 times. The major goal of the new Commander is promote the VISION.. OH BOY. I CAN'T WAIT
It is so sad that I have learned more about this department, from Facebook than I did from the actual Department, since the new Chief got here. Although I should be happy at least I'm getting something
I got a command staff promotion test question. Two officers put in for a property detective position. Officer "A" has 22 years experience with the department and has previous investigative experience and happens to be a male. Officer "B" has 2 years with the department including the academy, with no investigative experience with the department, and happens to be a female. Which one of these two applicants do you think will get the job?
The county HR News bulletin is reporting that the traditional pension plan increase is coming. Let's guess why? misappropriation of funds, funds for the stadium or an inept pension board.
"if you like where you are...you better..." you can be sent anywhere at any time. More tickets or else!!!! Just forget the policy about checking your DMC , while driving.
Néw guns and the cars to get the guns to the fight are in terrible shape. I remember walking to an active shooter event. What idiot is making these decisions. Yes I said idiot. The results show that no better descriptive could be used here. We are in a everyone gets a trophy training cycle. Thanks Chief. Your vision has put the reputation of this agency in the dumpster. Soon to be in the landfill. Candidates getting unlimited attempts and training money spent on their incompetence. You sir have destroyed this agency. You will be remembered as the Obama administration of Cobb County. Thanks for absolutely notta! Some of us that work along side you when you were an officer here thought you were the right man for the task at hand. We sure got our boots knee deep in our mouths now from speaking you up highly. I hope your office is dust free and all shiny objects are sparkling because you have no clue what the precinct shift squad rooms look like. Let that sink in when you think about the next good idea fairy event you impose with policy.
Is this being monitored anymore? At the Chiefs meeting of Sgts and below he said all crime is down besides thefts. Some brave soul suggested altering our chase policy to include entering auto suspects (I say all felonies) like Smyrna did. The Chief said we have to be in line with the other Metro departments. Who says? I would rather our chase policy be more aggressive than the surrounding areas to keep the criminals in their jurisdiction, not ours. Let them go to Atlanta or Gwinnett to steal. If Smyrna can chase entering auto suspects and we can't, it stands to reason their thefts will go down and ours will go up.
Back in the late ‘90s when the county switched from a true pension plan to the employee funded retirement plan, the retirement fund went from over 80% funded to 50%.
Where is my post from a week ago. Just because you don't like the content you don't allow it on even if it doesn't violate your rules? I expect an answer

ReplyDeleteWhere is the money???
We can’t afford livable wages for our PD staff and officers but we can afford to “create” a 100k position to assist the assistant CM. Disgusting....

ReplyDeleteDon't have all the facts yet, but are we going to get hung out to dry if we wait for back up? This IS a P.R. department now. My bet... yep!
